Single source of truth (marketing)
Also called: SSOT, Single source of truth marketing
A single source of truth in marketing is the one system everyone on a team agrees to trust for what the strategy is, what campaigns are in flight, and what performance looks like. Without it, every weekly meeting starts with reconciling versions of the truth instead of deciding what to do next.
Most lean marketing teams have three or four sources of truth: a strategy doc, a project tracker, a content calendar, and an analytics dashboard. Each is correct in isolation; together they contradict each other within days of any change.
A single source of truth does not require consolidating into one tool. It requires one place where the canonical version of strategy, plan, work-in-flight, and performance can always be found — and a discipline that the canonical version is updated when anything changes elsewhere.

Marketing operating system
A marketing operating system is the shared layer where a marketing team's strategy, plan, content, distribution, and performance live as connected work — not a single tool, but a coherent operating model that keeps a lean team aligned without weekly status meetings.
Marketing ROI dashboard
A marketing ROI dashboard is the single view a CEO, CMO, or CRO uses to see what marketing spend produced, in terms of pipeline and revenue, over a given period. For lean B2B teams, it is the artefact that ends the recurring debate about whether marketing is working.
Strategy to execution
Strategy to execution is the discipline of turning a marketing or go-to-market strategy into shipped work without losing intent on the way. The most common failure mode is a strategy that lives in a slide deck while execution happens in disconnected tools — producing on-time output that does not advance the strategy.
